Bioinformatics-The use of computers in solving information
problems in the life sciences, mainly, it involves the creation of extensive
electronic databases on genomes, protein sequences, etc. Secondarily, it
involves techniques such as the three-dimensional modeling of biomolecules
and biologic systems.
Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary science of collecting, organizing and
interpreting genomic data. The manipulation of this data is a huge task
requiring the use of broad computer platforms and unique applications of
statistical methods and extensive use of databases.
 We
at Vistamation, Inc. in partnership with Dove Tree Canyon Software of San Diego,
have drawn on our experience with Rapid Application Development tools in the
industrial sector and made Portal offerings available to the research community. This
software, commonly called middleware, provides the “glue” to bridge multiple
applications across multiple platform / operating systems and databases.
The use of Web based tools and Browser based user interfaces provides
endless possibilities to the variations in data manipulation and access
topographies.

From portal servers to application servers, we have the
tools, technology, and experience to provide portal infrastructure
supporting portal applications. Our multi-tier environment supports the
automation of high volume, repetitive business processes for integrated
client/server and web online transaction processing applications (OLTP). On
the client side, while GUI clients are accessing application servers through
traditional client and server networking, web browsers are able to access
the same application servers over the Internet through portal application
servers.

heterogeneous data from multiple databases into a tightly integrated
